Our Mother Only Curses Us Instead of Praying for Us

In this life, a parent’s words carry so much power. A prayer from your mother can lift you higher, but a curse from her can break your spirit. Sadly, not every parent understands how deeply their words affect their children. Some children grow up longing for encouragement but instead receive hurtful words.

To every parent out there, remember that your voice can either build or destroy. Speak life, not death, over your children. And to every child facing this, know that you can rise above negativity. God’s blessings and your hard work can rewrite any curse.

Hello, please keep me anonymous. I am writing on behalf of myself and my siblings because we are so confused. We are five children in the family, two girls and three boys. I am the eldest, a graduate, while the rest are still struggling to gain admission into the university.

Our biggest problem is our mother. Instead of encouraging or praying for us, all she does is curse us. Whenever she gets angry, she says words like “none of you will make it” or “you will all suffer in life.” Sometimes she even says these things in front of people. We feel so discouraged because no matter how hard we try, she never blesses or supports us with prayers.

Now we don’t know what to do. Should we report her behavior to her family members so they can talk to her, or should we just distance ourselves from her completely for our peace of mind? We still love her because she is our mother, but the pain of hearing constant curses from your own parent is too heavy.

Please, what should we do? How do you handle a situation where the person who is supposed to pray for you is the one cursing you?
