Chapter 6
“Is it because you beat her black and blue?” Ethan’s gaze swept coldly over Wendy and the twins. “Or because you dragged your mistress and illegitimate children into her home—forcing her to flee with her daughter for three months?”
Veins bulged on Nathan’s forehead as he stepped in front of us, blocking the path.
“She still hasn’t finished kneeling 99 times to atone to Wendy and the children,” he barked. “Until I agree to the divorce, she’s still my wife!”
Ethan’s eyes darkened. “You dare talk about legality after forcing another man’s wife and child to suffer? That’s kidnapping, Nathan. You think just because you’re a Lu, you can do whatever you want?”
Nathan sneered. “Don’t think you’re untouchable just because you’re from the Pei family.”
Ethan laughed—low and dangerous. “Illegal, is it?”

At his signal, his bodyguards stepped forward without hesitation, surrounding Nathan like wolves closing in on prey.
Before Nathan could react, Ethan landed a solid punch across his jaw. He stumbled back, the twins in his arms shrieking as he fell.
“That’s for every tear Olivia cried over trash like you,” Ethan growled.
He pulled me gently behind him and used his free hand to cover Lily’s eyes. The next punch came from a bodyguard—straight to Nathan’s nose.
“And that one’s from Lily,” Ethan said icily. “To remind you what a real father is supposed to be.”
Wendy panicked. “Stop! You’re going too far!” she shrieked, spinning toward the reporters. Her voice trembled as she sobbed for effect.
“In broad daylight, the Pei family is using violence over a married woman! They won’t even spare two innocent babies! Is this how the powerful abuse their status?!”
Ethan didn’t even blink. “Continue,” he ordered his men. “Avoid the vital areas.”
“You—Ethan! You’re going too far!” Nathan spat, pinned to the ground, blood dripping from his mouth. The twins howled beside him, ignored for once.
“Ethan…” I murmured, reaching for him. A flicker of hesitation crossed his face.
He glanced at me and finally let out a short breath, a crooked smile forming on his lips.
“Don’t worry, sister,” he said calmly. “I’ll make sure these people are properly dealt with. None of them will ever touch you or Lily again.”
