My Billionaire Husband Brought His Love Child Home, So I Got My Daughter A New Dad-Now He is Crazy with Regret!

Chapter 5

One-year-old Lily had clung tightly to my hand, sobbing uncontrollably. I could’ve taken my daughter and fled to safety. But then—through the choking smoke—I saw Ethan collapsed in the panicked crowd, barely conscious.

“Mommy, save big brother!” Lily had cried out, tears streaking her soot-covered cheeks.

Without a second thought, I wrapped my jacket around Lily’s face, shielding her from the smoke. Then, with my free hand, I grabbed the unconscious Ethan and dragged him toward the exit—just as the firefighters burst through the flames. His body had been burning hot with fever, his breaths shallow. Even semi-conscious, he had clung tightly to my sleeve, refusing to let go.

After the fire, Old Mr. Pei personally came to thank me. When he heard that Nathan’s new company was on the verge of collapse, he immediately invested $50 million in Lu Corp. That funding saved Nathan from bankruptcy—and laid the foundation for the empire he now ruled with pride. From that day on, Ethan’s gaze toward me changed. He began appearing at the bookstores and cafés I frequented. Quiet, respectful, but persistent—leaving behind limited-edition toys for Lily as “repayment” for saving his life. Until the night of his 18th birthday. He had snuck out of his own party, a bouquet of 99 roses in hand, to find me under the stars.

“Olivia, I know you’re married. But I’ll wait. I’m young… I’ll outlive him!”

Nathan had caught us that night. He’d beaten Ethan mercilessly, consumed with rage. It took all my strength to pull them apart. Afterward, Ethan was forcibly sent abroad to study. I’d promised Nathan I’d cut off all contact with him. And I had kept that promise. Until now.

Just as Ethan bent down to lift me in his arms, Nathan’s voice thundered through the chaos.

“Put my wife down!”

But before he could reach us, Lily broke free from Wendy’s grip and ran straight to Ethan. She threw her little arms around him.

“Big Brother! My daddy is a bad man! He bullies Mommy with that other woman! I don’t want him to be my daddy anymore!”

Ethan crouched down and gently patted her head.

“Alright, Lily,” he said softly. “You’ll come home with me.”

Then he turned to Nathan, his voice turning to steel.

“Nathan, you don’t even understand basic gratitude. What right do you have to call Olivia your wife?”
