How My Wife Found Out Her Friends Almost Destroyed Her Marriage

Marriage becomes dangerous the moment outsiders gain more influence inside the home than the two people who actually vowed to build a life together. This follow-up inbox is from the husband who finally decided to share his side of the story, and how the truth behind the conflict in his marriage was far darker than anyone expected.

This Story is from the man who's wife was turning their children again him

My Wife Turned Our Children Against Me

This story is a painful reminder that not everyone who calls you “friend” actually wants the best for your home. Some people sit close just so they can clap when things fall apart. A marriage can survive poverty, mistakes, misunderstandings — but it cannot survive when outsiders start pulling the strings.

To couples reading this:

  • Protect your home from third-party influence, no matter how close the person is.
  • Never give your friends more power in your marriage than your partner.
  • If someone always encourages conflict, manipulation, disrespect, or divorce, that person is not your friend.
  • And most importantly, do not allow lies to grow in silence. Communication would have saved this couple months of pain.

Sometimes the enemies of your marriage are not strangers. They sit next to you, smile with you, laugh with you — and wait for your home to scatter.
Be wise.

I want to start by saying thank you for your advice. I read it over and over again that day, and somehow it gave me the courage to keep calm and not act out of anger. You told me to keep fighting for my family, and today, I am glad I listened.

A lot has happened since the day I wrote to you. That very night, my wife confronted me — not with insults, but with tears and shock. She had gone through my phone while I was in the bathroom. At first I was upset, but what she found made everything finally make sense.

She opened my WhatsApp and saw messages from three of her closest friends — the same women she always listened to, the same women who kept telling her to provoke me, insult me, disrespect me, and turn my children against me.

She saw the screenshots with her own eyes.

These were the same women telling her daily:
“Leave him.”
“He doesn’t deserve you.”
“He’s cheating.”
“He’s useless.”
“He’s probably dating someone.”

But in those same messages, they were privately chatting with me — begging me to leave her, claiming she didn’t deserve me, even sending me pictures of themselves. One of them even said she could “take better care of me than my wife.” Another told me I could travel outside the country 3 or 4 times a year if I just gave her a chance.

One of them sent a picture of me and a random lady who greeted me in a club months back, claiming I was cheating. Meanwhile, it was a harmless picture that lasted only a few seconds.

My wife scrolled through the chats for almost 20 minutes. She didn’t speak. She just cried. Then she asked me one question:

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

I told her the truth —
I didn’t want to destroy her friendships.
I didn’t want to make her feel like I was manipulating her.
I didn’t want to be the reason she lost the people she called sisters.
And most importantly,
I didn’t want our marriage to turn into a war of ‘he said, she said.’

I told her I kept begging them to talk to her on my behalf because I wanted peace — because I loved her and our children more than my pride.

That night, she apologized. She admitted everything you suspected. Her friends were the ones telling her to fight me, to provoke me, to push my buttons so I would hit her and she could use it as evidence for divorce.

She said they told her to turn the children against me, and she obeyed because she trusted them more than she trusted me.

But the moment she saw those messages… everything changed.

She blocked all three of them. She deleted their numbers. She told me they were the ones feeding her with lies and poisoning her mind. She cried again when she saw how I responded to them — always respectfully, always refusing their advances, always pleading with them to help me save our marriage.

She realized she almost ruined her home because of people who secretly wanted the same home for themselves.

Today, we are working things out.
The children are slowly returning to me.
My wife is calmer.
She apologized to my family.
I apologized to her too because even though I wasn’t wrong, the pain was real.

Your advice helped more than you know.
Thank you for giving me the strength to be patient.
