Meanwhile, Mohor tells Surjo he cannot give Lalita’s saree to Shaoli. Noyontara intervenes, snatching the saree from him, claiming she will not allow Shaoli, whose intentions are malicious, to receive it. Surjo asks what proof she has for this claim and says he will decide who receives his mother’s saree. Noyontara asserts her rights as Lalita’s daughter-in-law, noting that Mohor also has a claim. Mohor leaves, while Shaoli expects Surjo to bring her the saree.
Noyontara questions why Surjo is acting this way simply because the blood report matched. Surjo explains that he has no love or care left for Shaoli, and he only wants to give her the saree to keep her calm and prevent problems. Confused, Noyontara listens as Surjo takes her face in his hands and clarifies that Shaoli is his past, not his present. As Surjo moves to kiss her hand, Noyontara notices a cupboard about to fall and warns him. Shaoli, who overheard the confession, vows to kill Surjo if he cannot belong to her. A loud scream from Shaoli draws their attention to the guest room. Shaoli pretends to have fallen, and Surjo helps her up, stating that she is his responsibility while she is in the house. Later, Mohor informs Noyontara that Surjo bought sarees for Shaoli. Shaoli hugs Surjo in gratitude, and Noyontara admonishes her for hugging strangers.
