Rishi tells Aniruddh that Nutan wanted Jhanak to go to a city college, which was also Jhanak’s dream, and he cannot send her to Simulboni. Aniruddh questions why Rishi is taking responsibility for Jhanak. Rishi explains that Aniruddh is not taking responsibility, so he has to. He reminds Aniruddh that Jhanak is his daughter and that past acceptance could have prevented these problems.

Aniruddh says he cannot give his name to Jhanak because Aditi cannot tolerate the truth. He requests Rishi not to reveal it to her, warning that if he does, Aditi will believe him, not Rishi. Rishi insists he has told Aniruddh what he needed to and takes the letter from him, stating that Aniruddh doesn’t deserve it.
In Simulboni, Nutan tells Parashar to ensure Jhanak becomes a doctor. Parashar expresses hope that Nutan will live to see it. Nutan tells him she cannot survive and her time is ending. Parashar asks how this can happen so suddenly. Nutan admits she feels she ruined his life, but Parashar says she completed it. He says she is his strength and will remain in his heart. Nutan requests he marry after her death, but Parashar refuses, saying he cannot live without her. Nutan assures him her memories will remain alive, and though she wishes to live for Jhanak, God is calling her. Parashar cries as Nutan struggles to breathe.
Meanwhile, Abhimanyu scolds Rishi for creating problems by going to Simulboni. Tanushri argues that since Jhanak’s family is not taking responsibility, why should they? Rishi explains that he went because his heart guided him. Payal asks if Jhanak will be sent to Simulboni after discharge, and Rishi declares she will stay in their house, shocking everyone.
Tanushri threatens to leave the house, questioning Jhanak’s right to stay. Dadabhai explains that since Nutan may die, they cannot tell Jhanak or send her to Simulboni now. Rishi insists she must recover first. Abhimanyu questions his sudden decision, and Rishi says he is responding appropriately to the situation. Indumati asks why he feels responsible for Jhanak; he replies that if the rightful guardian is not acting, he must.
Suddenly, Nutan struggles to breathe and passes away. Parashar screams her name, crying, and the villagers mourn with him. Meanwhile, in the hospital, Jhanak calls out for Nutan.
Precap: Putul helps Jhanak enter the house. Jhanak tells Dadabhai she wants to go to Simulboni, and Rishi says she can go after two days. Aditi questions why Rishi has not told Jhanak about Nutan’s death.
