Callum walking away didn't stir Harper in the slightest. Afterward, Harper returned the jewelry Jace had given her, offering him a soft word of thanks. Then, with quiet composure, she resumed her role as Sara's Restish tutor. For a while, everything was perfect, life was all smiles and sunshine , until a buzz from Jace's phone broke the spell. That was when Harper found out Callum was back in the country.

After learning about this, Jace made the call and turned to Harper. "I'll have someone take you and Sara back to Gusnea." She asked, "What about you?" "Have you lost your mind, Callum? You're carrying a gun, and you abducted us. This is a crime." Callum ignored her completely and loaded the gun in front of her. "From this moment on, Jace's fate is up to you, Harper. If you agree to start over with me, I'll let him go. Otherwise, he is as good as dead." She kept stalling, making things up to buy time. " Hold on. Didn't you say you destroyed the Colter family for me? Then how are you still this powerful?" He chuckled.

The authorities are onto us. We're out of time." Before Callum could respond, another person barged in out of nowhere and held a gun to Harper's head. Callum's eyes went wide with rage.

"What are you doing? Let her go." The person was pretty riled up too. "Harper is the one who deserves to die the most. You lost your damn mind over her and ruined the Colter family's business . When you came back, I thought you were going to turn things around. "In the end, you're still choosing her first. The authorities are watching every part of our operation because of her. She'll be the end of you, Mr. Colter.

She has to die for you to come to your senses." With that, the man pulled the trigger . In the nick of time, Callum lunged forward and kicked the man to ---- the ground -the bullet missed by an inch, scraping his face. Before Callum could even catch his breath, the man pulled out the second gun and charged straight at Harper. "Die, you bitch!" Callum's pupils shrank. He didn't even think before throwing himself in front of Harper. Jace finally broke free and tackled the man to the ground.

Callum called out weakly, "I love..." His chest was drenched in blood. He tried to raise his hand to touch Harper's face one last time, but he died in her arms before he could. His eyes stayed fixed on her, his eyes brimming with endless devotion. She was so shaken by the sudden turn of events that it took her a long time to snap out of it and gently close his eyes with her own hands. Just then, the sound of police sirens filled the air.

The bodyguards of the Winslow family and the officers showed up together. After that, all the Colter family's underground operations were shut down. In the end, Harper still took care of Callum's body. Then, she parted ways with Jace and Sara before setting off to travel the world alone.
