The storm outside pounded against Amara’s windows, rain lashing like the fury of unseen gods. She stood by the glass, staring at the city lights blurred by water.
Another envelope had been delivered earlier that day photographs of Darius with a woman. Jason’s latest weapon.
Her fingers trembled as she opened it, but when she saw Darius enter the room, dripping from the storm, her choice was already made.

“Amara,” he began, reaching for her.
She didn’t let him speak. She tossed the photographs into the fire, watching the flames devour the lies.
“I don’t need explanations,” she said firmly. “I trust you, Darius. Blindly. Completely.”
He froze, breath catching. Then, slowly, he pulled her into his arms, pressing his lips to her hair. “You’ll never regret it. I swear on my life, Amara, I will never betray you.”
The thunder roared, but inside, there was only warmth. Their bond was no longer just love. It was an oath, unbreakable, undeniable, eternal.
