The scene starts with a man collapsing to the ground while being beaten. Indu shouts for help and manages to free herself from the woman holding her back. She rushes to her father, Rajender, begging him to open his eyes. Furious, she questions the man who dared to raise his hand against her father in the middle of the rain. Before she can slap him, he stops her and orders everyone to go inside. They obey him and leave.
Indu pleads for her father to wake up. Desperate, she runs into the road and tries to stop passing vehicles, but no one helps. Breaking down, she cries in the rain. Eventually, she convinces an auto driver to help her. With his support, she lifts Rajender into the auto and urges him to rush them to the hospital.
The auto driver tries to comfort Indu, saying that since the weather is now pleasant, things will soon get better for her too. Indu thinks to herself that she felt the same just twenty-four hours earlier, believing everything would fall into place once she reached Mumbai — but nothing has gone as expected.
A flashback begins: Indu walks through the rain, dropping her things as the wind grows stronger. Meanwhile, Ritesh, sitting in his car, opens the window. His friend teases him, asking if he wants photos of his new film poster as well. Ritesh proudly says he wants pictures of every poster of every film he has done.
Just then, he notices Indu struggling in the storm. He steps out with an umbrella and moves toward her. His friend shouts for him to get back in the car because of the rain, but Ritesh is mesmerised by Indu’s side profile. He offers her the umbrella. Before he can see her face properly, his friend pulls him back into the car and hands him another cloth, asking him to thank him instead. Ritesh and Indu miss the chance to see one another. Indu quietly says “thank you.”
At home, Sunita scolds Rajender for cooking so late at night with an old mixer. He proudly defends his mixer, saying he is preparing food for the next day as well. Sunita teases him about planning to take food all the way to Bhopal. She then asks about Indu’s whereabouts.
Indu enters the house drenched, and Sunita reminds her of the next day’s plans, asking how she will travel in such weather. Indu says her friend Vivek will manage everything and goes to her room. Sunita confesses her worries about Indu’s marriage.
Rajender reassures her, explaining that the next day he and Indu will meet Mahesh in Bhopal — the man Indu has loved for two years. Sunita is anxious that Mahesh may have changed his mind, but Rajender insists nothing will go wrong.
In her room, Indu asks her sister Anjali why she is watching TV instead of studying. Anjali bluntly replies that her favourite show is about to air. She gets excited seeing Ritesh on a TV program promoting his film. The host asks him why he chooses love-based films.
Ritesh replies that love is his life. Indu smiles at her phone and whispers that Mahesh is her love and her life. When the host asks Ritesh to define love, both he and Indu, in different places, compare love to chocolate ice cream and the rain. Anjali hears both and gets confused. Indu shyly smiles at the TV.
Later, Vivek drives Indu to a house where she must deliver food prepared by her parents. Vivek says he’s relieved the rain has stopped, but Indu tells him she loves getting drenched. He playfully teases her.
At the door of the house, Indu imagines Mahesh opening it and blushes. Vivek snaps her out of her daydream, and she apologises to the man who actually answers before leaving.
At home, Sunita refuses to eat sweets, saying she will have them only when Indu gets married. She worries again about Mahesh, but Rajender reassures her they are meant to be together.
Vivek drops Indu home, asks her for petrol money, and gets scolded before she thanks him. Their neighbour Neelam arrives and annoys Indu with her usual complaints, asking for sugar. Indu fetches it and goes inside.
Elsewhere, Ritesh is at the gym. Rahul updates him about his new film’s performance. When Ritesh complains, Rahul reminds him he’s not a superhero like Rajinikanth and tells him to get ready for his showtime.
Meanwhile, Neelam tells Indu a story about her relative's daughter being cheated by a boyfriend who returned from abroad married to someone rich. Indu defends Mahesh, saying he would never do such a thing. Sunita prays for everything to go well.
The next day, Sunita asks Rajender to get Indu and Mahesh engaged quickly so her fears will settle. She gives him a ring.
Indu and Rajender reach Mahesh’s house. Rajender happily says their lives will change beautifully from today. But once inside, they are welcomed by a married woman who praises them for looking after Mahesh. She then reveals it is Mahesh’s first birthday after marriage — she is his wife.
Both Indu and Rajender are stunned. Mahesh arrives, sends his wife inside, and begins insulting Indu, questioning her character. Rajender loses his temper and confronts him, but Mahesh beats him.
The flashback ends. Indu breaks down, saying she was wrong about love — it is not a blessing but a curse. Somewhere else, Ritesh celebrates when Rahul informs him of his film’s strong opening and starts praising the power of love.
Indu says that to her, love has become nothing but pain.

Indu, imagining Mahesh, says the love she once thought was a blessing has turned into a curse. Ritesh tells Rahul that the girl is heartbroken and no one deserves to lose faith in love. He follows Indu, who is walking down the road crying, and calls out to her. Indu turns around in shock.
