A cheerful girl steps into her garden to water the plants. She smiles at a butterfly before introducing herself as Katha Kumari Rathi. She explains that she has been living with her uncle since childhood and lovingly names each of her plants, referring to them as her family. A botany student, Katha, openly states that she doesn’t like men and wants to support her uncle once she completes her studies.
Just then, her uncle starts playing an old song, and Katha joyfully dances with him and her aunt. Soon after, she rushes out to collect cow dung from the milkman. When her uncle questions her, she explains that it’s necessary for her plant deliveries. Her aunt scolds her and reminds her that classmates mockingly call her Gobar Devi. Her uncle jokes about getting her married, but Katha firmly replies that she will never marry.
At the college, a student asks Chef UV about the connection between food and music. UV gives a passionate explanation, cooks a dish, and presents it. Tammy then arrives and informs him that Gobar Devi has refused to let their group enter the fresher’s party. Curious, UV expresses a desire to meet this mysterious Gobar Devi.
Meanwhile, Katha instructs her uncle about following a proper diet, though her uncle and aunt try—and fail—to fool her. Her aunt reminds her about the college event, and Katha leaves for college carrying a plant. Both her uncle and aunt praise her as she heads out.
When Katha discovers that her usual train is delayed, she decides to take a bus instead. An argument breaks out when the conductor and passengers ask her to leave her plant behind. Determined, Katha climbs onto the rooftop of the bus with her plant. She updates her friend, who informs her that UV and his friends are angry at her for denying them entry to the event.
Later, Katha reaches the college. UV sees her and tells his friends that maybe they misjudged her. But as she walks past them, the strong smell around her irritates him, prompting his friends to remark that this is exactly why she’s called Gobar Devi.
During the fresher’s party, Katha's long and serious speech bores the crowd. UV suddenly crashes the event singing and dancing. He forcefully pulls Katha into the performance and then drops her on the ground. Upset, Katha scolds UV for interrupting the program. UV and his friends are confused by her old-fashioned vocabulary until her friends quickly take her away. A man then arrives and drags UV out of the venue.
At the Jindal house, preparations for a puja are underway. Pari begins filming a vlog introducing her family. Eshwar Chandra Jindal asks Rukhmani where UV is and reminds the family that he had assigned him an important responsibility. Their worker soon brings UV home. UV admits that he didn’t bring the plant and adds that he doesn’t believe in the puja. Eshwar scolds him, and Harshvardan joins in. Hurt, UV says he has work at his café and decides to leave. Eshwar tells the family that UV is becoming a bad influence on his siblings and worries about conducting the puja without the required plant.
Meanwhile, Mohan brings Katha to the Jindal house. As fate would have it, Katha and UV bump into each other, causing cow dung to spill on UV, leaving him furious. The Jindal family is delighted to see that Katha has brought the exact plant they needed. Mohan introduces her to Eshwar, and Katha respectfully takes the blessings of both Eshwar and Rukhmani. With their permission, she places the plant in the puja area. Eshwar is deeply impressed by Katha. Comparing her sincerity to UV’s careless attitude, he wonders if their meeting is a sign from God and smiles to himself.
Precap:
Katha complains about UV to Eshwar, while UV vows to make Katha fall in love with him—only to break her heart later. Katha vents her frustration about UV, but soon after, she witnesses UV helping a patient at the hospital, and the gesture unexpectedly touches her.
