Ishani demands to know what right Anurag has to advise her about anything. Anurag reminds her that they were once friends. Ishani firmly rejects this, stating that they were never friends and never will be. She adds that she has no friends and despises the idea of friendship altogether. Anurag asks if she truly believes she can control her future. Ishani replies that her life experiences have taught her enough to distinguish right from wrong for herself.
Anurag assumes she is angry with him, but Ishani denies it. She remarks that he is now a successful professor and married. Anurag interrupts her and asks her to wait. He orders two coffees and two pineapple pastries. The waiter leaves.
Ishani tells him she is not in the mood to eat anything. Anurag insists, saying that since this is supposedly their last meeting, she should treat it like a farewell. Ishani clarifies that she will continue coming to college. Anurag responds that they will meet strictly as professor and student. Ishani agrees and asks why he has time to worry about her when he has a wife and children. Anurag suddenly laughs.
Offended, Ishani asks if she said something amusing. She accuses Anurag of mocking her and blames him for her current circumstances. Anurag concludes that this is why she is angry. Ishani insists she has no rights over him and therefore no reason to be angry. Anurag shocks her by saying that he still has rights over her and then reveals that he is not married. He adds that Ishani is insulting him without understanding the truth. Ishani sarcastically asks whether she should have welcomed him with garlands instead.
Anurag reveals that after returning from abroad, he went to her house. He believed Ishani had moved on and never imagined she had compromised by marrying Shashwat. Shocked, Ishani asks if he truly came during her wedding and why he never contacted her. Anurag explains that he had met with a severe accident that left him unable to speak or move. By the time he recovered and returned to India, he saw Ishani as a bride on the wedding mandap.
Overwhelmed, Ishani breaks down and holds his hand. Anurag gently asks her not to pity him. Ishani apologises and says everything went wrong because he did not return in time. Anurag asks if she plans to continue enduring Shashwat’s torture. Ishani helplessly asks where she can go if she stands against Shashwat. She then mentions that Pihu seems to have feelings for him. Anurag dismisses it as mere attraction and tells Ishani to come to him if she ever needs support. Ishani asks him to get married and move on.
Meanwhile, Nandini compliments Shashwat’s perfume and says he has all the qualities she admires, except his uncontrollable anger. Shashwat asks if she trusts Ishani. Nandini warns him that he could have landed in serious trouble if Ishani had gone to the police and advises him to control his temper.
Raj Didi joins them and expresses concern that Ishani is going out in her condition. She warns Shashwat to either control his anger or stop Ishani from leaving the house. She also mentions that even Pihu has turned against him. Nandini reassures Raj Didi that she will handle everything. Relieved, Raj Didi says she trusts Nandini and leaves. Shashwat also walks away.
Back at the cafeteria, Anurag tells Ishani that it is time to leave. Ishani remarks that things would have been different if he had returned earlier. Anurag gently holds her hand and repeats that it is time to go. He wipes away her tears as they leave together. Ishani gets into his car, and Anurag joins her.
