Anjana tells Arshi that she wants to visit the temple and asks her to remind Aditi to apply vermilion because it is a special day. Jhanak overhears this conversation. Soon, Arshi and Anjana welcome Aditi’s friends. One of them questions Jhanak’s presence. Arshi explains that villagers boycotted Jhanak, so Rishi brought her home, and now she is staying with them to help.

Aniruddh notices Jhanak working and recalls moments with Nutan, realizing how similar Jhanak is to her mother. He asks Anjana to leave for the temple early, but she decides to wait for Aditi and Rishi. Meanwhile, Arshi checks if Jhanak has finished decorating Aditi’s room.
When Jhanak addresses Arshi as “Aditi didi ki amma,” Aditi’s friend mocks her. Arshi subtly insults Jhanak, saying she cannot use refined words like “sir” or “ma’am.” Anjana defends Jhanak, pointing out that she has studied till 12th and is preparing for NEET. Arshi dismisses her ambitions, claiming someone like Jhanak should not dream big. Hurt, Jhanak walks away.
Aditi and Rishi arrive. Arshi praises Aditi for already applying vermilion. She also mentions that Jhanak cleaned Aditi’s room and even gave her Aditi’s old clothes to wear. Aditi takes Jhanak’s books from Rishi and heads inside.
Alone, Jhanak sees a vermilion box and reflects on her situation. She acknowledges signing the separation papers but still considers Rishi her husband in her heart. She applies vermilion on her forehead. At that moment, Aditi walks in, gets shocked, and angrily questions her.
Aditi drags Jhanak downstairs and exposes her in front of everyone. The room reacts with shock and judgment. Aditi demands an explanation and asks Rishi to respond. He calmly states that Jhanak acted on her own choice.
Aditi and her friends insult Jhanak, calling her shameless. Aniruddh questions her actions, but Jhanak firmly tells him not to interfere, blaming him for forcing her to sign the papers. She insists she does not want to come between Rishi and Aditi, and asks why her personal act is bothering everyone.
Arshi scolds Jhanak for ruining the occasion. Meanwhile, at Rishi’s house, Putul fails to contact Jhanak, making Dadabhai anxious. He considers going to check on her, despite Tanushri discouraging it.
Back at the house, Rumi questions Jhanak’s intentions. Jhanak explains she applied vermilion privately and offers to remove it if it offends everyone. She looks at Rishi and begins to wipe it off.
Arshi stops her, calling it drama, while Aniruddh advises Aditi to ignore her. Rishi questions whether bringing Jhanak there was right, since she is constantly humiliated. Jhanak replies that she faces insults everywhere.
Aditi accuses Rishi of supporting Jhanak, but he counters that applying vermilion is Jhanak’s personal choice. He even asks Jhanak to return with him. Aditi threatens to stay back if he does that.
When Aditi’s friend calls Jhanak a maid, Rishi strongly objects. However, Jhanak chooses to stay. She apologizes to everyone and asks Aditi to forgive her, acknowledging the importance of the day.
