Ojha is being informed by his assistant that a ghost tried to attack him. The assistant points at Shaoli. Shaoli quickly denies this and lies, claiming Noyontara was responsible. She urges Surjo to tell the truth to Ojha. Surjo questions Noyontara about the incident and asks Shaoli why she is present at this time. Shaoli explains she came to welcome Ojha, but internally worries about going near him. Noyontara instructs Shaoli to approach Ojha to greet him. Shaoli hesitates, blaming Surjo for letting Noyontara bring Ojha inside, and retreats angrily. Noyontara then asks Surjo to bring Ojha inside. Upon entering, Ojha immediately senses a ghostly presence in the house.

Shaoli retreats to her room, relieved that Mala has removed the godly photos. Noyontara follows her, reminding her that Shaoli failed to stop Ojha from entering and warns that she will face the magical broomstick if she enters the house temple. Shaoli pushes Noyontara, begging her to stop, while Noyontara hugs Surjo protectively. Shaoli insists Noyontara is a ghost and will be beaten by the broomstick. Both women struggle to pull Surjo toward themselves. Exasperated, Surjo calls them both ghosts in his eyes and threatens to become a monk in the Himalayas if they continue. Noyontara reassures him that today he will gain freedom from all ghostly troubles and runs off.

Meanwhile, Ojha comments on sensing a ghostly presence in the house, describing it as resembling a dead body. Ashalata asks him to identify the spirit. Ojha explains that a good soul resides in the house, which is why the evil ghost has not prevailed. The assistant prepares for the rituals. Ojha instructs everyone to gather in the house temple and asks his assistant to catch the ghost.

Mala speculates that Noyontara went to bring Ojha to make a secret deal. Poulomi and Mohor question why Noyontara went alone. Ashalata agrees. Shocked, Noyontara defends herself, clarifying that she went to ensure Ojha’s safe arrival. She reflects on her intent to protect the family.

Surjo confronts Shaoli, reminding her that Noyontara accompanied Ojha to the ashram, proving she is not a ghost since ghosts cannot enter sacred spaces. Shaoli still claims that Noyontara may have tried to influence Ojha, but Surjo dismisses this, citing the Priest’s assurances of Ojha’s abilities. Surjo then drags Shaoli along to face the truth.

Ojha takes up his broomstick, prepared to detect any ghost. He asks the family who they suspect. Mala, Poulomi, and Shashodar all point to Noyontara. The assistant claims that Noyontara saved him. Noyontara tearfully agrees to undergo the test. Ojha warns her that the test will be difficult, and Noyontara confidently states that she wants the truth to come out. Surjo brings Shaoli to the temple. Noyontara smiles, anticipating the test.
