Noyontara is seated for the ghost test. The Ojha sprinkles various powders over her as part of the ritual. With each action, Shaoli experiences pain in her own body because she is the real ghost, feeling a burning sensation throughout. Surjo tightly holds Shaoli’s hand while this happens. Shaoli protests, asking to be released because she is choking from the smoke, but Surjo refuses, saying Noyontara is enduring far worse and she can handle this small discomfort.

The Ojha then takes a straw broom and begins hitting Noyontara. She is hurt badly, but she continues to endure the pain with a smile, as the Ojha attempts to summon the ghost from her body. Impatient, Shaoli tries to flee upstairs, but Surjo stops her. Despite the brutal beating, Noyontara remains resolute, realizing Surjo still cares for her, and chooses to bear the pain.

Surjo questions the Ojha, asking if such extreme measures are necessary, but the Ojha continues the ritual. At one point, Noyontara cries out in pain. Unable to remain calm, Surjo positions himself behind her to shield her, even getting struck once by the broom.

Family members express concern over the puja being halted. The Ojha explains that Surjo’s interference was a mistake. He activates his magical broomstick, which begins flying and seeking the ghost. It first hovers around Noyontara, then moves upstairs toward Shaoli’s room. Surjo rushes upstairs. The broom hits Shaoli despite the doors being closed, forcing the spirit out of her body with a loud scream. Surjo finds Shaoli lying on the ground and initially fears she has been killed by the Ojha.

Noyontara prevents the spirit from returning to Shaoli’s body by touching a flower blessed by Durga Mata. Surjo moves Noyontara aside to give Shaoli CPR. Once Shaoli regains consciousness, Surjo angrily confronts the Ojha, nearly calling the police. Noyontara intervenes, saying if she is blamed, she must face punishment. Surjo requests that she sign the divorce papers, which she agrees to, but she insists she will only leave after the Visarjan. Surjo agrees but orders that she remain locked in a room until then.
