Raina family is sleeping peacefully. The baby suddenly starts crying. Indu wakes up and tries to calm her, but the baby continues crying loudly. She wakes Anjali and seeks her help to make the baby sleep, but they fail. Anjali pleads with the baby to sleep as she has school the next day. Indu tells her that they already tried feeding milk, but the baby is refusing it, and she does not know what else to do. Sunita calls from outside and asks whether they checked the baby's diaper. Indu and Anjali look at each other and reply no.
Sunita enters the room and tells them that taking care of a baby is not easy. She jokes when Anjali says no one taught her these things. Sunita scolds Indu for bringing home a baby without even knowing how to take care of her. She asks Indu who is going to teach her all this, and Indu says her mother. Indu requests her to guide her. Sunita takes the baby, checks the diaper, and says it is full. She asks for a new diaper, but Indu says they do not have any. Sunita asks Anjali to bring a piece of cotton cloth for now. She changes the diaper using the cloth.
Rajendra comes to the room and watches this. He and Indu smile at each other. Sunita carries the baby near the window and asks her to look at the moon. She sings a lullaby, and the baby falls asleep. Sunita turns to show them, but is shocked to see all three of them fast asleep. She smiles and says there are four babies in the room, including the one in her arms. She places the baby on the bed and prepares to leave.
Before leaving, Sunita looks at the baby again. She tells the baby that she needs a family and a mother who can love her and take care of her. She says Indu is too young and broken to raise a baby. Sunita adds that if the baby stays with them then Indu will never find someone who can love and take care of her. She apologises to the baby and says she has no choice but to leave their lives.
The next morning, Vivek arrives and gives sugar to Sunita. She asks why because he already brought aloo parathas earlier. Vivek jokes that too many parathas were made at home, so he brought them here. Sunita glares at him. Vivek apologises and calls out to Indu, saying she will go crazy if he takes too long to get ready. The doorbell rings, and he receives a parcel for Indu.
Indu opens the box and finds a chain with a pendant containing her photo and Mahesh’s photo. Her brother Prashant, who sent it from Canada, asks her to fix the marriage date in November so he can attend. Indu becomes emotional and tears up. Sunita and Vivek remain silent.
Neelam enters the house with her friends. She assumes Indu’s marriage with Mahesh is fixed and the chain is a gift from his family. She congratulates Indu and tells Sunita to inform her early about the wedding date so they can go shopping. Vivek sends Indu to her room. Indu breaks down. She then hears the baby crying, so she rushes to her and comforts her. Indu tells the baby that both of their lives have turned upside down in one night. She says the baby appears calm but she herself is breaking from inside. She promises to become strong. She asks the baby why every decision in life feels so difficult. She promises to always be the baby’s choti maa.
Vivek scolds Neelam and tells her no wedding is happening, shocking her. Later, Indu thanks Vivek for helping her. At the hospital, she stands in line to get the baby vaccinated. A woman beside her asks about the baby and says babies are strong and give strength to their parents. She tells Indu that the baby looks like her. The nurse calls them inside the doctor's room. Indu tells the doctor she wants the baby vaccinated. The doctor agrees and asks for the baby’s name. Indu says they have not named her. The doctor asks for the mother's name. Indu sees the baby holding her finger and gives her own name. She asks if a father's name is necessary. The doctor says no and sends the nurse to take the baby for vaccination.
Ritesh and Rahul arrive at the hospital for Ritesh’s hand injury. Rahul scolds him and leaves to find the doctor. Ritesh looks inside the doctor’s office and gets mesmerised seeing Indu. He recalls their previous encounter and smiles.
Precap: Mahesh snatches the baby from Indu and runs upstairs with a knife. He threatens to kill the baby if anyone comes near. Ritesh follows but stops when Mahesh warns him. Ritesh asks why he is doing this. Mahesh says he wants revenge on Indu. Indu, Vivek and the hospital staff beg him to give the baby. Mahesh drops the baby from upstairs, shocking everyone.
