Katha tells UV that after marriage, it is customary for a husband and wife to stay in the same room. UV accuses her of making excuses, claiming she is still upset about failing to defeat him in college, and storms out. Katha feels deeply hurt.
After freshening up, UV returns and is shocked to see Katha arranging the bed for him. Katha explains that once everyone goes to their rooms, she will quietly leave his room. UV again accuses her of manipulating the situation and chooses to sleep on the sofa instead. Katha looks at her mother’s photograph and reflects sadly, feeling her fate mirrors her mother’s life. Assuming everyone is asleep, she steps out and tries to reach the terrace but fails to find the stairs. Left with no option, she lies down on the kitchen floor and resolves never to hurt Mohan and Vandana, promising to fulfil all her responsibilities as a daughter-in-law and wife.

At midnight, UV wakes up and is startled to find Katha missing from the room. Annoyed, he blames her for making his life miserable and even calls her a dangerous virus in his life. When he cannot find her, he briefly assumes she has left the house and feels relieved, but quickly realises that such happiness is not destined for him. He finally finds Katha sleeping in the kitchen. UV accuses her of creating unnecessary drama and trying to turn the family against him, ordering her to return to their room. Katha defends herself and refuses, reminding herself that she has self-respect too. In anger, UV forcibly covers her mouth with a cloth and drags her back to their room, leaving Katha shocked.
Katha warns UV to let her leave or she will scream. UV pleads with her to stay quietly in the room. When she refuses again, a frustrated UV promises to fulfil any condition she asks, provided she agrees to stay. Seeing an opportunity for the family’s sake, Katha demands that UV participate in all post-wedding rituals with her. UV is left speechless. Though he hesitates, Katha provokes him by questioning his courage, forcing him to agree. He storms out after giving his word. Katha apologises to God for her tactics.
UV returns later and coldly tells Katha that he only needs time to remove her from his life, and he will do so at any cost. Katha is deeply hurt. Remembering her promise to Eshwar, she decides she has no personal interest in this marriage but will continue the relationship for Eshwar and Mohan’s sake.
The next morning, Katha wakes up early, freshens up, and heads to the temple to perform puja. Chandrika questions Rukmini about the absence of other daughters-in-law during the ritual, but Rukmini defends them. Katha arrives and seeks Chandrika’s permission to perform the puja, which she receives with Rukmini’s encouragement. After the puja, UV’s cousins arrive and criticise Katha.
Later, Katha requests Charu to guide her on the responsibilities of a daughter-in-law. Chandrika, overhearing the conversation, criticises Katha’s upbringing and declares that she herself will teach Katha all her duties. Katha obediently begins noting everything down, while Chandrika questions her repeatedly. The rest of the family struggles to hide their smiles at Katha’s innocence.
Precap: Katha asks UV to accompany her to her parents’ house for the pagphera ritual. UV challenges her to speak in English for two minutes if she wants him to agree. Tammy and others laugh at Katha, but she shocks everyone by delivering a fluent two-minute speech in English.
