Jhanak’s friends tease her by talking about her supposed romance with Rishi. Jhanak asks them to stop and leave because she needs to study. One friend warns her not to change after joining a city college. Jhanak firmly replies that she will complete her studies while staying in Simulboni.

Meanwhile, Aditi asks Rishi to explain everything that happened in Simulboni to his family. Rishi tells them that the villagers assumed he and Jhanak were a couple, so they stayed in the same room only to maintain that impression. Abhimanyu questions why Rishi did not return with Aditi. Rishi explains that Jhanak could not see her mother one last time because of him, so he stayed to support her. He clarifies that sharing a room did not mean anything inappropriate happened. He reminds Aditi that he asked her to stay, but she refused.
Aditi responds that she could not tolerate the insults and lies. Rishi asks what the point of this discussion is if she does not trust him. Aditi questions how he would feel in her position. Rishi replies that she was wrong to call Jhanak characterless.
This angers Aniruddh, who demands to know why Rishi is defending Jhanak. Rishi says he would not defend her like this if something had actually happened between them. He warns Aniruddh not to speak against Jhanak, adding that he could also reveal things said in anger. Tanushri intervenes and asks Rishi to stop.
Surjeet questions why Rishi is threatening Aniruddh. Rishi replies that Aniruddh knows the truth. Aditi becomes confused and asks what Aniruddh knows. Rishi says it is a personal matter between him and Aniruddh. Aniruddh tells Aditi he will talk to Rishi later and asks her to decide whether she still wants to marry him. Aditi says she needs time to think.
Later, Rishi calls Jhanak and tells her he reached Kolkata safely. He asks whether she has eaten. Jhanak replies that she ate and is studying. Rishi encourages her to score good marks because she needs them to enter medical college. Jhanak says she wants to become a doctor but worries about the fees. Rishi assures her not to worry about money.
Her friends begin teasing her again, and Rishi overhears them. He asks what is happening. Jhanak says her friends came to visit. He hesitates and asks whether he should disconnect the call. Both remain silent. After sending her friends away, Jhanak asks what he wanted to say. Rishi tries to tell her that his marriage has been postponed. However, Jhanak interrupts and says she has an exam on his wedding day, so she cannot attend. She asks him to keep Aditi happy because he loves her. She disconnects the call and breaks down in tears.
The next day, Rishi visits Aditi’s house. He admits that distance grew between them due to his decisions. He says Jhanak is his responsibility, and he cannot abandon her. Aditi asks what happened and why he cannot free himself from that responsibility.
Precap: Aditi asks Rishi to clearly state whether their marriage will happen. Rishi says marriage is not necessary just because they were in a relationship if they are unhappy. He wonders why he secretly hopes the marriage does not happen, despite loving Aditi.
